Gary A. Smith founded Southeast Commercial in 1990, as a real estate and property management company. After years of real estate sales, development, management and leasing, we found that construction services were needed on most of our transactions, and we added that to our list of services we offer our clients. Gary has been in the construction industry for over 35 years, with extensive experience in all types of projects, including design- build construction projects, masonry and span-deck construction, tilt up concrete, poured in place concrete construction, post and beam, metal stud and epi-core floor systems, wood framing construction, pre-engineered steel buildings, panelized wall panel systems, modular construction, and multifamily projects. As President and CEO of the company, he works closely with all of the managers to ensure that the delivery of services exceeds the expectations of Southeast Commercial’s clients. Karen Roberts Office manager
Office Manager Karen M. Roberts relies on her two decades of office experience to maintain several duties for Southeast Commercial LLC. Her duties include accounts payable/receivable, weekly payroll, job costing, 1099s, ordering materials for projects and scheduling subcontractors. Karen’s invaluable experience, leadership, personality and multitasking capabilities all make her the catalyst of operations with the company. She provides unparallelled support which enables our entire team to work harmoniously and productively.
Hank H. Hardcastle Project Manager
Hank H. Hardcastle is the resident jack of all trades. He brings with him a mindboggling amount of wealth and experience. He has been involved in every facet of construction for over half a century. He spent time studying architecture in college before serving honorably in the military as a Special Weapons Engineer. He eventually relocated to Knoxville and established himself as the area’s premier carpenter and cabinet specialist since 1968. His estimating and project management experience, in addition to his graphic design prowess, proves him to be the backbone of the team with an encyclopedia of know-how, experience, business acumen and service.
An avid tennis player, Hank says the highlight of his athletic career was a basketball game against the original Harlem Globetrotters.
